One Of My Favorite Movies Comes to TV This Weekend
The Cinderella Man is playing numerous times over the course of this weekend on TNT. This is one of my favorite movies of all time.
James J. Braddock is a hero for the ages. He showed not only great courage but a rock solid love for and commitment to his wife and children. He embodied the hopes and dreams of a nation beat down by the Great Depression. His beating Max Baer to become the Heavyweight Champion gave many hope that they could emerge victorious from their struggle with poverty and unemployment as well.
Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger’s fantastic portrayals of James and Mae Braddock make the film. There’s an excellent supporting cast including Paul Giamatti.
If you have never seen this movie, I strongly encourage you to catch it this weekend on TNT.
